The Henry County Commissioners discussed how to handle closures of county office facilities due to weather issues. Judges McColley and Collier were part of that dialogue; and the decision was to draft a policy for these circumstances. Last week, when a level-3 snow emergency hit after employees were on-the-job; it led to mixed decisions on personnel.
The Henry County Commissioners approved the purchase of a new hot-shot truck for delivering meals-on-wheels, at a cost of just under $40,800, from an Elkart, Indiana company. Portions of that truck will be paid through block grant dollars, and senior center funds. That cost was about $250 lower than a local bid from Henry County.
Commissioners passed a resolution to vacate a portion of Napoleon township road N-4, which was proposed by the engineer’s office. This road is located next to an alley in that township.
And the following residents were appointed to the Henry County tax incentive review council, which oversees tax abatement proposals: They are Calvin Spiess, Dexter Benecke, and William Morey.
